The Dog House

Advice for the forlorn...... I still find this to be the "funniest video" I've seen in years.

In my hometown, Christmas decorations have already appeared in many businesses. (it started about 3 weeks before Thanksgiving this year) I think the advertisements are abundant because it takes a little longer, every year, to get people in the "commercial" spirit of Christmas. I have no doubt we've lost the 'true meaning' of the merriment.

As a word of wisdom to my fellow Ham Radio operators, be careful about buying those "thoughtless gifts" for your loved ones this year. Your wife may not be overjoyed with your purchase of another radio.

You might find yourself in "The Dog House".

You have to watch it a couple of times to pick up on all the subtleties.

Hello John, it's a great film. Really fun. In the Netherlands we don't give presents with Christmas, some do but the majority don't. We have Sinterklaas on December the 5th, and we give each other presents, in particular for kids. Instead of giving presents we could give love and attention, would that be great? And of course not only with Christmas. With Christmas we seek for the light in our hearts, and we should remember that He's always there. God bless you. 73 Paul PC4T

Hello Paul,

Thanks....I'll do some reading about Sinterklaas. One of the things I really love about Ham radio is the ability to learn about life in other countries. I appreciate you bringing it to my attention.

I loved the video or your son playing tennis on the TV. Hope the weather is dry for a change. It's sure been a wet one in England this year.

Time to tune in Radio Netherlands now....I'll be leaving for New York tomorrow and will be staying for a few weeks. I'll take the radio but it will take a few days to get it up and running. I usually get into Europe very well from up there. Will be listening to 14.060 a lot.

Hope to work you sometime.

John

Hi John, I seem to recall you being in NY about this time last year...and having some success radio-wise. If you are in NYC, give my regards to Broadway...and Rocky Center. In the Past, I always managed to get to the City at this time of year. Crowds or no crowds, a delight.

Hello Dick,

New York turned out to be one of the busiest trips ever this year but NO time for radio because of family obligations.

We'll be back around Christmas so hope to make up for it with a trip to town. Usually find time for Rocky and Broadway.

Spent a few days at the Mohonk Mountain House near New Paltz. One of my favorite places on earth! It's a BIG nature preserve....ever been there?
