VE7YMM QRP BRITISH COLUMBIA

When I can't work anything else on 20 meters, it seems I can always work a station on the west coast. Puzzling, but that's the way it is today. The bands not in good shape and I hear no DX.

I always can work Texas and Florida, (and most of the time) the state of Washington. This evening it was another QRP station just a little short of Vancouver BC. VE7YMM/ QRP was a my best catch today.

(Especially since he was only using 2 watts with his K2).

I bought myself a new toy this evening. It should arrive by Saturday afternoon. It makes me feel a little better about not getting to Dayton this year.

It's my first Vibroplex key.

I still don't feel comfortable sending or receiving much over 20 wpm....so I didn't buy the "standard bug".

My key is a magnetic action Iambic key called a "square racer".

I'm looking forward to using it.

Hello John. Enjoy your new Vibroplex. I have a couple old Vibrokeyers. Single paddle, auto dits/dahs. Same use of wrist as a traditional bug. 73 Dick

Excellent! I love hearing about new keys. The Square Racer is an attractive and solid looking paddle. I'm looking forward to hearing how you like it.

Hello Guys,

Thanks for the encouragement and I'll be sure to post about it when I get the "feel" of the magnetic action.

For me....the Vibroplex will be like driving a "classic" car. It's a tradition. I have mixed feelings about the "new label" but perhaps it too will become a "collectors item" ?

I'm going on a "selling spree" now to clean out some older gear I don't use anymore. I'll sell my old MFJ QRP equipment.

I have the entire 40 meter line with the battery charger, tuner, and both CW and SSB models.

My CW QRP rig has both the "curtis keyer" and an extra "filter" installed.

I also have a "portable packet" system that I used to work the Russian MIR space station. (I was sitting in a cow pasture).

Will probably list it all on the QRZ site??
