VA1CHP Nova Scotia

No DX today but I'm having fun with the Maritime stations. This one (VA1CHP) is in Shad Bay, Nova Scotia. Immediately followed by VE1RGB in Wellington, NS. Might pick up a few more tomorrow but time to stop for the day now. I've tried to work VE2RCN twice but no go. It's been fun...

John, you have been making some wonderful QRP contacts with the Maritimes. In point of fact, I have always had great satisfaction when working those stations, and those you have recently contacted. I haven't been on the air today, and not likely, considering the propagation numbers. Have a nice Sunday.

Hello Dick,

Yes...I like those Maritime stations too. Freighters, fishing boats, sailboats, old Coast Guard Cutters... I even worked a submarine once. But I've never worked an aeronautical station.

I know of only one aeronautical who was using SSB so not likely I will catch him on the air. He was flying from Cancoon to Phoenix at about 30,000 ft. while working an English station.

Of course, I'll always keep my ears open...perhaps I'll get lucky.

You're right about the band today, just terrible.

Good evening John, I have contacted VA1CHP many times in RTTY contests. Infact in my early days on RTTY contesting I contacted VA1CHP many times with questions, he was very helpful with all info.
