Poor Conditions

Last nights NAQCC mw sprint produced NO results for me. Surprisingly, I could hear VE2ZAZ in Canada, K2ZC in New York, and AF4LB in Virginia but I couldn't make ANY contacts with less than 1 watt. Sometimes, the band just isn't there and last night was one of them.

As for DX....today seems to be another one, which I'm hearing very little activity on any band. Is this the beginning of the end? I'm about ready to rely on the phone lines for any long distance calls.

Hi John, you can't have it all John, ;-) A weeks ago you were in a DX flow. But you know, you'll never know with propagations. Suddenly it's there, without a warning. 73 Paul

Hello Paul...and how true. It's very strange about propagation. Radio is like fishing, you never know what you're going to catch until you throw the line in the water. Hihi

I heard YU2VZ in Serbia yesterday, (and he heard me well enough to copy my prefix), but the strange thing was he was only there for about 5 minutes before he vanished into thin air. That was the "DX" for the day!

It's been that way for the last week. Puzzling...
