Wow....speaking of drooling.

I hear Milan (OK1KW) just about every evening on 14.058. He's always  calling CQ Fists. Earlier today (mentioned in previous entry)  I heard him, but never thought I'd get another shot at him until the band changes.

Spent the early evening having dinner with my Son and Daughter in law, took a nice walk afterwards, returned home, turned the radio back to the fists frequency, and what did I hear?

He was 599 into good old West Virginia! The best I've ever heard him!

I was ecstatic with a 449 report with my 4 watts into the Czech Republic! ---4,488 miles.

We all know what that means.....

WOW 4488 miles with 4 watts you have hit the 1,000 mile per watt at 1 watt for 1122 miles!! That is great

Hello Mike,

Milan (OK1KW) is one of those stations that's just "in the right spot" for me. This is the 3rd time I've worked him but the FIRST time with 4 watts.

He's my 10th "1000 MPW" contact.

I've started to automatically reduce my power to 4 watts when I have a good copy on a DX station. When the bands "up" I find it quite easy to work eastern Europe with only 4 watts.

Try if from Ontario. You'll be surprised at the Spain and France contacts you can make with less than 5 watts.

Hi Mike...looking back at some of your older posts, I can see you are very aware of those "1000 MPW" contacts. FB
