SM5CAK with 4 watts

Lars (SM5CAK) and I have worked before, (2-11)  but this time, I had my power reduced to 4 watts and it's always nice when someone remembers me and my QRP station on a contact. I was surprised when he mentioned my name when I returned his call on 21.033. It's the same frequency we worked last year.

The band wasn't very good this morning. I was hearing a strong HA3FTA in Hungary (SSB) but my choice was to work only CW today.

I felt good about working this station in Sweden. He's a little over 4,200 miles from me and qualifies for another "1000 MPW" contact. It's always fun to work a station with a great pair of ears like him. He has a lot of aluminum in the air....

Well done John. I will be on the air again, portable, next week. Because of antenna, will require QRO but hope to hear you on 20 or perhaps 15.

Hello Dick,

I've become very fond of 15 meters since the antenna is SO short. Fortunately, it orients east-west here.

I'm still finding a good DX window between the morning hours of 9-11 am (most mornings) when I stretch it out in the house.

Hope the sunspots hold out for a bit more....

I worked Lars on 20 meters last year. It was much easier on 15 this year.

Hope to hear you when you're on the air.

Good evening John, yes the 1000 mpw is always a good feeling. It's great also that he remembered you as well. Great contact.

Hello Mike,

Yes, my 17th now. I need to send some of them to various clubs for certificates now. I'm not a big fan of wallpaper but it's for my own enjoyment that I do it.

Can't verify them all but have quite a few....

Hope the back is getting better.

Hi John, the back is coming along very very well. Seems this time around I am fortunate to not have a long and drawn out situation.

Hello John, well done. 15m is doing great. Proving that propagation is much more in portant than antennas on both sides.
Did you know that the signals to Europe take off to the Norht-east, as we can see on the WSPR maps. So the orientation of the antenna is is good enough.
Take notice of the S-meter before answering a QSO and see how low you can go. ;)
